19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden championship for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after spring of that year.
The win also signifies he has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
His retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the final five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
